Analysis of the causes of damage in the use of automotive wiring harnesses
1. When changing the wire of the automobile wiring harness, the wire is not selected according to the regulations (the wire is too thin), and a large voltage drop is generated when the large current passes through and heats up, causing the wire skin to gradually age and damage;
2. Carelessness when installing the battery, positive and negative polarity are reversed, short circuit in the alternator, damage to each insulating gasket and insulating sleeve, and reverse connection of the magnetic field line and ground wire of the alternator will cause the wiring harness to burn out;
3. Automobile wiring harnesses are often fixed with thin iron pickups. The edges are sharp like knife edges, and the surface of the iron pickups is not insulated. The vehicle vibrates and bumps during long-term driving, and the power wiring harness will inevitably be worn out, cut and iron, causing the wire harness to burn;
4. When the automobile wiring harness is temporarily connected to the electrical equipment, the fuse current inlet and outlet are not clear, that is, the power cord is randomly drawn out, or the fuse is burned out, and the fuse of the same specification is not replaced as required, or use thick copper wire instead of fuse, lose the protective effect and burn the wire harness;
5. The two connecting columns of the ammeter are often made of plastic insulating sleeves. The plastic has poor heat dissipation. It must withstand both current and bumps and vibrations. If the ammeter is loose or in poor contact, the temperature will rise, cause the plastic to melt and ground, causing the wire harness to burn;
6. The connection of the connecting column is not reliable, resulting in a large pressure drop and heating. Over time, the insulating gasket will be damaged and the ground will be short-circuited. Note that the connecting posts behind the ammeter and other instruments should be connected well, and the wire connecting screws fixed on the frame wiring board should not be too long to avoid grounding and burning the wire harness.
